Kim S. Benitez (Landsberger), affectionately known as Mama, Mother, Sis, Mommom, and most commonly known as "Ms. B", passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 63.
Kim was born in Bethlehem, PA on October 8, 1958 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Annamae (Bednar) Landsberger, and the adoring wife of the late Gustavo A. Benitez, better known as "Big Gus" or "Pop".
Carrying on her legacy are her two sons Gustavo E. Benitez (Sarah) and Eric (Gina) Benitez, her daughter Julia Benitez, her bonus daughter Melina Lezis, two brothers Scott (Carlos) Landsberger and Jeffrey (Melissa) Landsberger, two sisters-in-law Lisbeth (Rudy) Ibarra and Edna Damaris (Carlos) Rios, her eight grandchildren Kameron, Aaliyah, John, Alana, Mya, Dominic, Giuliana, Giana and as well as all of her nieces and nephews.
Kim was predeceased by her youngest son Michael D. Benitez better known as "Mikey B".
Anyone who knew Ms. B knew how much she cherished spending time with her kids as well as her grandchildren.
In addition to spending time with family you would often find Ms. B with one of her best friends, Linda, or Brenda having a cup of coffee on the porch. She enjoyed reminiscing with a pot of coffee brewing and her favorite scented candles lit.
Ms. B's favorite past times included reading Harry Potter, the Twilight Saga or any Danielle Steele novel, playing Candy Crush at all hours of the night and listening to music. She loved her music. You could catch her listening to anyone from Patsy Cline to Al Green, to Keith Sweat, to Dolly Parton and who can forget her love for Spanish songs, which reminded her most of her time in Guatemala with her husband. Ms. B's favorite time of year was Fall and Halloween. Thanksgivng was her absolute favorite holiday. Cooking any of her favorite family recipes was her way of showing love to her family. Her raspy laugh, tell-it-like-it-is personality, and her daily ‘good morning’ FB posts are just a fraction of the things we will cherish in our hearts forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Sunday, October 9 from 2-3PM, with a religious blessing to follow directly after at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road, East Norriton.
